my brother was driving on I-75 today at about the 98 mile marker, when he said he coudn't accelerate anymore. then all of a sudden i hear this nasty grinding metal noise, like a cylnder grinding the wall.. it was bad.. pulled over.. car still starts and runs but sound HORRIBLE>> like somone is taking a grinder to my enginge. looked at oil.. it was nice and silver with plenty of metal shavings..

the car is a 95 2.5 atx lx with 85,000

so what do guys suggest doing?

a. rebuild? new engine? how much .. who.. were.
b. Part it out and get a new car
c. just leave it on the side of the road?

or any of your suggestions and comments would be helpful.

All i got to say with the METAL SHAVINGS and all, HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU GOT???! That is a M A J O R uhoh. Sorry dude but once you see those metal shavings, your usually 95% done for with the old engine, and whip out the cash for the new one, or new contour Well, good luck and sorry to brake you the bad news
