{I do hate spam, but that isn't really part of my email address. Remove the string ?HatesSpam? from the email address ?BobHatesSpam@blaylock.to? to email me. No advertisements. Spammers will be dealt with very harshly!} ------- Moonlight Blue 1996 Mercury Mystique GS , Zetec engine, ATX. No mods. (Well, OK, one mod. Before I got rid of my previous car, a 1994 Tempo, I swapped radios. I liked the Tempo's radio better. That counts as a mod, doesn't it? I also kept one of my Tempo's wheels to use as a spare. I hate those stupid ?compact? spares that come with modern cars. Does this count as a mod? If so, I guess I have two mods. Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)

I'm getting 19 with my Zetec in mixed driving conditions, HWY-City.
Hopefully spark plug wires come soon so I can do a tune-up.

I'm getting between 25 and 32 mpg. The cold really doesnt help. I do need to replace O2 sensors, so I cant blame it all on the weather. Oh yea, I also have 150,000 miles now on the z-tec. Just got some bosch wires, and they seem to help smooth out the motor in the cold.

'96 LX V6 ATX, 19-20 mpg. Sucks ass IMHO. Our GTP weighs hundreds of pounds more, has a bigger engine, and is supercharged, will blow the frigging doors off this car and pulls down 19.5 in daily usage.

99 V6 ATX - winter loop to work = 19mpg - summer loop to work = 22mpg Since winter type weather has arrived in Michigan...mileage drops. It takes about 3 miles of driving to get engine warm.

98 V6 MTX - custom dual exhaust, KKM, custom ram air, 60 mile commute, 95% motorway, Canadian weather = 19.4mpg or 220 miles to a 11.25 gallon tank or 12.8L/100Km or 350 Km to a 45 L tank. My 5.0L got better mileage...

I usually get 17-19 mixed. I have seen as high as 31, and as low as 15.

I have been getting 21 mpg in cold weather and I got about 26 mpg in warm weather. That's on a 97 Zetec Mystique. I would think that a 4-cylinder would get better mileage than that!
