Okay, I know this has been covered a million times, but I am trying to order the green bulbs for the interior doors from fordpartsonline.com. Can somebody please verify the part# and description for me???? Are these the white bulbs or the green ones?
Part# E7RY-13466-J Desc BULB-TYP W T5/1.2 12V 1.2W
FWIW, I went to 3 different dealerships for the bulbs today. Two said they never had those bulbs, and the guy at the parts desk at the last one wanted to argue with me and say Ford has never made a green bulb..... that somebody must've put them before I got the car; even though I told him I was the only owner. Its just a little green bulb. Why is it so hard to get?
Thanks, J

I dealt with someone like that about wooden shifter knobs, "noooo, they never made those for Mystiques with automatics!" There was even a 1998 Mystique ON THE LOT with a wooden shifter knob, damn fool said it was aftermarket. Finally told him to call another dealer, damn, did THAT shut him up!

I went through this also... I went to three different dealerships and two FORD dealers told me that FORD Contours didn't have door handles that glowed green when you turned on the lights. I told him my Mystique did. I even showed him (one was still working). He told me this was not factory. I laughed... I am the original ower... I don't have the brains to do something like this... give me a break. He suggested I go back to the MERCURY garage where I bought the car and order them. I have several issues with that place - but went there anyway. They had them in stock... know just what I was talking about. 4 bulbs cost me around $12.00. Sorry, I can't remember the part number. Call a MERCURY garage... they will know. Eurythmian

i need one too. although my local dealer sucks (service and prices), they would still probably be able to get it for me. everyone that rides with me at nite thinks their aftermarket, that's why i'm keeping them that way, and they match my cd player. gonna make some bulbs be red in the interior, and my cd player also has red, then i'll be through with lighting.

According to the thread at the bottom of this post, the part # is E7RY*13466*J (Bulb-Typ W)($3.29) It seems that you can also replace them with a Sylvania #2721 (from Pep Boys or somewhere similar) for less than $2. Check out http://www.contour.org/archive/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB3&Number=141030

For the money you will end up spending just for one frigging bulb, you might as well get some led's and put in there instead. You already have to tear the door apart to get to the light so why not follow the how to and put in led so you never have to replace it again. You can get all colors, white, green, red, blue, yellow, purple... customize people, customize...

Sorry, not willing to put in any LED's, although the pics I've seen are awesome! I'm all thumbs trying to solder anything. I've read the post on how to install the LED's but I don't understand half of the termanology. I've had my dang doorpanel off for a week hunting a little green bulb; me trying to install a LED could run into March.
Eurythmian, thanks for the heads up on the Lincoln dearerships, I'll give that a try! Thanks to all, j

Ok so if you are so set on getting another bulb, this is the easiest thing to look for. Sylvania #2721 get 2 for like 2bucks. Go to autozone, pepboys, or where every you can get a good selection of automotive bulbs. These are clear bulbs but i'm not sure if the stock bulbs are actually green or have a green cover over them. Mine were clear w/ a green diffuser until I put in led's. Or if the stock bulb is actually green, you could tape some green celophane over the diffuser lense on the back side of the handle surround to get the green.

autozone won't have the bulbs, though pep boys seems to carry bulbs that we need (though no pep boys here ).
