A rebuilt may be better.

Many brand new components are simply assembled and most of them work.

A rebuild, if done right, has all tolerances checked and so forth.

So a rebuild can be a higher quality unit.

I'm not saying Ford's transmission builder is a Terry Haines, but you have a better chance of getting one there, than on an assembly line of people who just throw the specified parts in there.

I wouldn't worry about it being a rebuilt tranny, as long as it works well.
