Yeah mine is too and it is REALLY pissing me off. I have the throttle hang fix installed, and that took care of it over the summer, but now with winter here my KKM and the throttle hang fix, it does it every time I put it in drive, drive some, and when the RPMs hit 1500...MOOOOOOOO, 1 minute later drops down to 500 and slowly comes back to normal. I had it die on me once in traffic before I put the TH hang in for the winter. I actually think it has to do with the engine trying to keep the RPMs up to warm up the engine quicker. I think this because the warmer the engine gets (regardless what the temp guage says) the shorter the moose. But the computer doesn't realize the car is driving now. Then the design of the airflow makes the horn noise when it opens up extra ports like the IAC and whatever other useless parts Ford put on this engine.

The Moose is definitely a sneaky animal. For the first 55K mi., I didn't have one. Now all of a sudden I do. Weird stuff.

Hey fellas,
I too have the 'moosing' problem while driving under similar conditions here in Canada. Tomorrow I will be replacing the parts as indicated by the TSB 96195. I will let you know how well it works.
Cheers,
Chris

I just got back from my local Ford dealer/service center. I'm hoping the moose extermination procedure was a complete success -- so far, so good ($216 later). They installed exactly the parts listed in the FAQ ( Moose FAQ ).

If we're all having this problem, why doesn't Ford cover it?

Well I am please to report that the moose has gone. As mentioned I replaced the parts with
those mentioned in the TSB at a cost of $202 (Can). The time required to do the fix was about 30 minutes. Hopefully I won't ever have people looking at me strangely when I drive. I will keep you updated if the moose returns.

Cheers,
Chris
