The front end on my 95 contour LX is quite lower than the rear and the tires seem to be rubbing on the strut. Do I just need new springs? or new struts also? Any help would be great!

Depending on the mileage and useage of your car, I would think that being a 95 I would want to go back with both springs and struts!

If you can afford it I would go with aftermarket springs, ROUSH COUGAR SVT's!!!! 120 bucks for all four. As for struts, I would go with ST200's from BAT.

Do some searching, there was a recall on some models because of sagging springs. I know that my 98 had the front springs and struts replaced under warrenty just before I bought the car. I actually found out through my local dealer. Also, go ahead and do some searching on struts and springs as for shopping around for them. Also, check out the suspension forum.

It is not uncommon for the front springs to break on older contours. My friend's broke while it was sitting in the driveway while he was walking to the front door of his house!

I wouldn't recommend driving it in this condition, because the broken spring can actually puncture and/or damage the tire.

Call Ford, there is a recall to address this problem, and they should replace the springs for free.
