Yep! Plenty of time...hmm, cleaner look, maybe if you show the car, but I race mine. Hmm, last time I check the battery had nothing to do with my filter getting air. Try putting a heat sheild around your filter or (here's the big one) move your filter to where it gets cold air. BTW, I'm just messing with you. Obviously moving the battery isn't for everyone, if it works for you, great.

Another reason to move the battery to the truck instead of getting a dynabatt is that the little dry cell batteries don't have as much cranking amps. If your planning on having a fairly large stereo system and/or live in an extremely cold area, you need to at least have as much power as the stock battery.

The stereo part I can't help you with, but most of the dynabatts have really good CCA's. Moving a battery to the trunk decreases its ability to start a car as well due to the fact that you have to transmit that much current over a fairly long distance through 0 gauge wire. You'd have about the same effect as having a dynabatt in the front.

Not if your going with an optima like most do. Also, the distance doesn't affect the charge significantly if you have a decent 4 gauge or larger wire. I have yet to see a small dry cell battery that has any more cca than the stock battery, although that is just me. The only one I've seen or heard of is myfastse's that weighs about the same as stock and has 1000 cca.

Never said it had the same as stock...but I did say close. I probably should have said enough. You can't be serious that you don't think transfering current through 15ft of 0 gauge isn't going to reduce the ability of the battery. Now if you have 4 gauge (which you shouldn't) then yeah, there won't be as big of problem.
My whole point about this is that moving your battery all the way back to your trunk bought you just about nothing other then an extra 5lbs over what you could have gotten with a much simpler install and one that is just as clean. Now we can argue all day over this but I've stated my opinions and backed them up. It is great you guys think that moving it is better, but I disagree. I feel the risks for reward are much too great.

I always thought the reasons for moving a battery into the trunk was either for space for an intake (cold air or otherwise) or to make room for a supercharger or turbo.

And when did I say anything that was false?

Qbert: I don't think anything you said was false, just a contrasting opinion. I personally think both sides offer good solutions with different trade-offs.
