Not if your going with an optima like most do. Also, the distance doesn't affect the charge significantly if you have a decent 4 gauge or larger wire. I have yet to see a small dry cell battery that has any more cca than the stock battery, although that is just me. The only one I've seen or heard of is myfastse's that weighs about the same as stock and has 1000 cca.
