i have never done this mod before, but, i used to play hockey....... One of the best things about hockey was the fact that i could always change the blade on the hockey stick by using a household iron or holdong it above an electric stove (the glass top ones).... What you might be able to do, is take an iron to the edge where the glue is, melt it, and then pull it apart.... just an idea, or at least what i might try when i go to do this mod... Also, it beats putting your whole housing into the oven.

the lights are (according to hightower iirc) glued together with an epoxy type glue, silicone glue is what melts in the oven, not epoxy

Someone here said they did do the hightower lights, and they put the headlamps in the oven for a few minutes at a time @ 300 degrees and were able to pry them apart. He also used a heatgun for the stubborn bits.
