Has anyone ever had problems with an SHO UDP kit? I just ordered one, but am a little leary to install if it will damage the engine eventually. The SHO Shop guy said lots of people have used them and he hasn't heard anything negative. I was talking with a local CEG'er and he said some of the new V6's have had probs. Just wanted some feedback. Thanks... confused

umm, SHOforum deals with SHO specific stuff, not contour...

As for the UDP... Go to the performance section and do a search. I think you will think twice about getting a UDP after reading a little mor eon the subject.

right on, i have already searched for UDP in all the forums and have seen more negative feedback than positive. Most of the people that don't like them have not installed them (obviously). The few people that I have seen with them seem to like em and 1 or 2 has seen bad results (oil leakage from seals, etc.). I am aware of the damage that they are capable of causing but wanted to know under what conditions (rpms, mileage, etc.) do people see the most negative results.

just talked to the sho shop tech and he said their pulley kit actually piggy backs off the factory svt crank pulley. the kit comes with a crank pulley and p/s pulley. the sho shop crank pulley is installed in addition to the svt crank pulley. the svt pulley remains in order to keep the harmony of the crank shaft as well as the dampner. he said there is absolutely no vibration with this kit.
