My reverse lights don't work, I checked the bulbs and they are not blow nor is the fuse. People tell me it could be the switch on the transmission(auto)What are your thoughts?

In some cars I have drove, you do have to play with the shifter a little to get the reverse lights to come on. But other than that, check your wiring too, maybe something disconnected or fried. Just a thought.

Yep, the switch is called a neutral saftey swicth. That is what I would think is the culprit.

i tried moving it around and it doesn't work. I went to the ford dealer and they said it could be one of two switchs. That neutrel safety swtich and some other one.

It might also be due to installing a b&m shortthrow shifter and loosened something have you done this?

Check the wiring in the trunk..specifically where it enters the left trunk lid support arm. Stress point at this area where the wire (purple?)is flexed on opening and closing, and wire may break due to metal fatigue.cheap fix is a MAR connector and some electrical tape
That's what happened to my 95.

well the wire is wraped in electrical tape but i put the car in reverse and moved the wire around and nothing. I think it is the neutral safty switch
