has anyone ever ran across a company that makes wheels similiar to the old enkie mesh/lace wheels that were available in black ,gold,etc ,with the bright machined lip, i think a set of those in black 17s on a black svt would look awesome

I agree with Keven - think that would look great. I have looked around for the same style wheels myself, but to no avail.

Ahhhh, no 
That looks OK on old school AE87's and 1st and 2nd Gen RX-7's, but no on an SVT 
If you want something like that but more modern, may I suggest Konig Imagines in Black opal?
What you're suggesting reminds me of those puke mesh wheels you see on some Grand Prix's - YUCK!
