I have had four - count them - four new water pumps installed this past year by my local FORD dealership. It's a very long story, but what they tell me was, it was due to a faulty mechanic and improper installation.
Anyway, since the original water pump died, the temp gage stays below the R in NORMAL until I come to a stop. Then is rises to the A. I can hear the fans cick on but it stays on the high end of normal. The gage used to never move - staying between the O & R.
The problem is - when it rises, the heater about burns you up and you have to practically turn it off and open the windows.
I know this is not right - but FORD and LINCOLN MERCURY both tell me they can find nothing wrong.

I'm not sure if I care to trust them, since they installed three water pumps wrong and charged me for all of them plus labor.
Any ideas?
