Sounds like a good plan! I personally don't think that there is a significant reliability issue with the fidanza, especially considering the number of successful users out there. I just wanted to point out that there was some basis for its consideration. When I beef up the trans I will certainly entertain adding one though I am still not convinced I will really miss it. I considered that when I had the motor out for the 3L swap in Dec 01, but costs were already too high and I decided I would wait until I could afford to do the whole trans.
