Just had my fidanza and Centerforce clutch installed last week... all I can say is WOW!!! lovy lovy love it... super smooth...ask the modded gen2 GS-t I just nailed .. (on the track of course) I do not recommend taking advantage of this as the flywheel and clutch require proper brake in..but I just lost my senses temporarily.

oh yea I'm going to hit 40,000 miles on my unorthodox udp and my other friend in town with a 99 svt is close to hitting 100,000 miles yes 100k on his UR UDP... just a note..hehe..both of us live well above 5k rpm's.

So was the UDP on your first engine when it blew (I notice that your 99 car has an 00 engine)?

NO!!! the UDP was NOT on the first engine, I repeat was not on the first engine when it blew.. it blew because Ford started to make cars... my dad is retired from Ford so I know the ins outs of these things.. FORD is ALL profit..per my dad whose worked for them for over 30 years. It was oil issues that blew my engine..

thanks,
Eric

he he, it's always the same question ever single time, "that's why your first engine blew dude" ..... get the facts first...igonog people.. not you Dan.. just get that same questions too much and people assume the UDP was the culprit.

Someone posted that the Fidanza is not compitable with some clutch kits out there. Which ones are they?

i cant tell you for sure which ones they are, but i do know that my flywheel works great with my c/f dual friction.

i think the tech at fidanza told me that it works with almost any because it has a steel insert. if i remember correctly some fly wheels have an aluminum insert which doesnt hold up to some clutches. another good thing he told me about the fidanza is that if it does go bad u can buy a new insert for 60.00 instead of a new flywheel like some of the other big name ones out there. thats IIRC

$60 for a new insert, but 10 hours to pull the damn thing out and put it back in. LOL

yeah that unfortunatley is the down side to it. when i installed mine it was the first time i have ever taken the tranny out of any car. to take it out and install new clutch and flywheel, then put back together took 10 hours. so if youve done it multiple times youll learn shortcuts. but if its a good product hopefully you should never see it again.

It took me and 3 buddies (canamSVT, gr8ride and Corbett) 2.5 hours to drop the trans, clutch and flywheel last night.

Not bad when you have a heated workshop, air tools and hoist.
