When I start off from a start with more than 50% throttle i get a stutter. Fuel filter is good , air filter is good, plugs and wires are good, no CE light? any ideas?

Similar problem here. I'm getting pissed and will soon go on a buying spree to fix the problem. Potential replacement items are: mass air sensor, TPS, fuel pump and coil.

Also heard it could be vacuum-related, but haven't found anything yet.


How many Vs would a VTEC TEC if a VTEC could TEC Vs? The one, the only....FRNKNFORD http://www.westvalleycs.com

sounds like the plug wires, does the car idle fine?

if it idles fine then it was the same problem I had and the plug wires went bad, I thought they were fine but after 108k or so they wern't good anymore

I replaced mine and still have the problem. I've also replaced the plugs (twice) and super-cleaned the fuel system.

Have you cleaned the MAF yet?

Why are you starting it at over half throttle anyway?

Possible causes:

Plugged cat - affects top end too.
TPS
Insufficent spark / wrong gap. (plugs, wires, coils)
Leak between MAF and TB (gets worse as pressure in intake pipe falls)
Fuel pressure falls (filter, pump, regulator)
MAF sluggish

Spark problems give rough stutter, the others are more like a big loss of power.

When I had a leak between the MAF and the TB the car didn't even run.

I just mean a leak, like the crankcase fresh air hose being off.
