It idles just fine and the plug wires are new Magnecores

Actualy it feels almost like the tires are scrabbling for grip. But ATX Zetecs dont have that problem from a start now do they

What? Unless your MAF is bolted to your TB, you have to have an accordian-style hose (or something similar) running between the two.

Hard to tell without being there. I suppose it could be a traction control problem or something in the tranny.

Traction control is very regular pulsing, tranny shudder depends on load.

Are the motor mounts good? Does the engine rock back when you put it in drive? Does it do it if you start out in second?

i mean i don't think i have a crankcase breather hose between maf and TB, mine has a APC filter and hangs below my ghetto intake.

Your crankcase breather should come out of your cam cover and originally would route back down into your airbox.

EDIT: At least that's how my '98 is. I don't know how different a '96 would be in that aspect.

how ever now there is a tube that goes into my CTA instead

I don't have traction control. Ilooked at my ATX fluid today its a little worn. Time for some fresh Mobil 1 ATF.
