I was going to try to keep it a secret, but I'm supposed to be taking my car to SHOshop tomorrow for the works, UIM/LIM, lightened flywheel and street clutch, and a quaife. I also have a set of heads that Vadim had and I'm having them ported/polished, but the heads are not back from the other shop, so I'm hoping I can still get my car back before Christmas!

yes, I did, Vadim wouldn't let me bring in my own block..LOL. but the nice thing is that SHOshop is going to warranty the motor and work for 12 months/12,000 miles, as long as the car doesn't see any track time (it doesn't anyways, just spirited street driving).
on a different note, my heads won't be available until wednesday or thursday, so SHOshop cannot do anything until I get the heads. I already talked to Vadim, and we'll try again, either this Friday or after the holidays.
I guess I can try to save money to get some headers too!

Are you getting the UIM/LIM extrude honed to the larger diameter? if so, did they quote a time turnaround for this aspect of the job? I'm thinking of getting that done if I drive down to California this summer...

Dion: What about that 3.5L they're supposedly coming out with? Too much mulla? It will be interesting to find out what is making the ticking noise in your old motor. Are you keeping it to tear it down and find out or??? At any rate, sounds like you'll have a nice runner when it's finished. Karl

me too! I'm also going to get some dyno time once the motor is broken in, to see if I'm on par with the other 3.0's in this area...(except for David Z's car).

yes, and vadim mentioned something about "siamesing" the ports on the LIM. but it is the 37mm secondaries that i ordered. I had to pay a certain amount up front to get the work started, and the IM's did take about 3-4 weeks to turn around. I'm not in that much of a hurry to get the motor done (it's not cheap), but I am looking forward to the new found power. If you drive down, make sure you have an appointment set, and that you'll be without the car for at least a week (at least that's my case).

Way too much money (for me anyways), and I don't even know the pricing yet. Seriously, I couldn't justify putting in a built 3.5, when I do have other things that need to be done too (like my backyard, attending to my baby's needs, work, etc.). I believe that the 3.5 (in my case) is too much for now. I truly believe the ticking sound was a bad exhaust gasket. I'm going to try to keep my 2.5, but I have to figure out a way to bring it back home......
