Mine (from '98) didn't mention any specific interval for a switch to synthetic.


1. A handful of performance cars out of hundreds of models. Not "so" many!
Cylinder honing/finish and ring composition determine seating time.
If Ford recommends to wait for 4000-6000 miles (checked manual) then they probably have a good reason for it being as they know the engine honing method & finish and the rings used.

2. Yes it's in the SVT supplement. (page 13) Scanned pics have been posted multiple times in the past.
