i have silverstar lows in my lows, it's much better than stock, i don't see a need for high in lows, especially to go through trouble of angling headlights down, etc. i couldn't really tell if my stock lows were on when they were (it was that bad) the silverstars are a nice bright white light (to me they have a slight bluish tint on the road, but not visible from other cars). i think it's worth the $40.

Well there is no re-aiming your headlights, your still using the low beams, just uping the wattage by 9 watts

Ok, since we are now in the dreaded winter season, well a couple of more days and it will be official, are the silverstars too bright for driving in snow? Are the lows so bright that it is like driving with the stock high beams on? I would like to get some brighter bulbs for my car since I work 3rd shift, but I don't want to blind myself either when I am trying to drive.

SilverStar highs in the lows are great, even in the snow. The only difference I can tell when I put my high-beams on, is that the high-beams shoot farther out.

Yes Stazi, that where I got them. They seemed to be the 1st store around to get them and always have what I need. Are you going to get them, I mean you'll need that extra light to warn everyone whats coming

ive read through this post and also have heard of this mod before. i have always wanted to do something like this cause the roads out where i live near st. louis are pretty narrow and poorly lit.
Anyways, the only thing stopping me is that i dont want everyone driving the other way to be blinded by me. If the bulbs are higher power, are they THAT much brighter. Or does the differences in the mirrors and such between the hi/lo beam sections of the headlights keep it tolerable. basically, i want more power but without blinding people and getting flashed by every car that thinks that i have my brights on. thanks for the help.

Your only bumping up the wattage by 9 and remember that your still using the low beams Go for it and you'll be happy you did, trust me. Also remember that when you do this, you'll have to re-aim your headlights anyways, so just turn on your lights, remember where they're aimed before hand, install them and re-aim accordingly. Good luck!

just get silverstar lows, they're plenty brighter than stock and no worries about blinding people.
