On a whim I did this mod to my car last night and couldn't believe it. The light pattern is so much wider, whiter, brighter, crisp and clean with no caffine...wait thats from an old commercial The bulbs were on sale for $19.99, usually there $24.99 and I paid $42.00 for both. Modding the housing was simple too. As far as my old lights, the PIAA superwhites, I put them in my wifes Trailblazer. I did one light at a time, just to see the difference in brightness and color and guess what....HUGE difference! The stock ones are straight up yellow compared to the PIAA's and my wife now knows what the big deal about automotive lighting is about So if your looking to upgrade your lighting and ever wondered if its really worth it, like other things you read about on these forums, I can tell you to GO FOR IT

So you used highs for your lows? Are they a certain wattage? Just wondering because I am considering doing this. My stock lights suck!

So let me get this straight.

Did you do the Silverstars one at a time in the Tour also? So you could compare the PIAAs to the Silvestars? I've actually been considering dropping my APCs for some Silverstars as I have been starting to see more and more positive info about them.

Who had the Silverstars for $19.99? Hopefully it is someone that is around here.

What fogs are you running? I'm wondering how well they will match the PIAA 510s I've got.

I've been happy with my APCs color and all, but the "blueish" lights are so common now I think I'm getting stereo-typed as a "Ricer". We don't need any of that crap now do we!

Roger, could you give me the part numbers for the Silverstars. I've been wanting to do this same thing. Do you have the same bulbs in your high beams and low beams? I'm guessing the low beams point more down so you dont blind other drivers, correct?

Also, do any non-yellow replacement bulbs for our fog lights exist?

I have been looking for non-yellow fogs too. Checked several local stores. Nothing. Even checked that Flexivity place on Fort Street. Nothing.

Ebay and other internet stores seem to be the only place.

Ok first off, Eric L, I only compared the PIAA to her OEM "quality" bulb by doing one side at a time on her truck. Maybe I should've did the same with one Silverstar high to the other PIAA low, oh well I'll tell you this though, theres a BIG difference between the PIAA 9006 and Silverstar 9005's, just remember to cut down those (2) little tabs on the 9005's and simply install them as normal. Also an FYI the standard 9006 (low beams) are 51w and the 9005 are 60w. The Cuzo bulbs I used to have were 80w for the lows and 100 on the highs, so I guess if you wanted to go even brighter you could get them, heres the website for the Cuzo bulbs www.dcmotorsports.com I believe they also have the matching #893 fog bulbs, which go very nicely with the Cuzos. If you only looking to upgrade to a whiter fog bulb, then you need the #885 fog bulbs. These are available just about anywhere. I've had them in since the summer of 2000 and no problems at all. Now some people have had there lenses "bubble" out, so buyer beware Who cares if they bubble out anyways, it would give you a reason to step up the best foglights...PIAA 510 ION fog Hope this answered all the questions.

DCMotorsports isn't there anymore. They decided to close down after ripping me off for $80.00!
I bought my Cuzos from a place here in Chicago.
Here's a decent how-to for the 9005 upgrade...
