I dropped the wrench twice and its still there lol.... to much snow on the ground to get under the car. I wish I would have replaced it instead if cleaning it!!!! after i cleaned the iac it worked better of like 3 days and now its back to the same old S_IT!!! lol... I am picking up a new IAC valve today. So this weekend I will be out their in the snow banks, 20 degrees and wind, freasing my butt off changing it....

kind of a related question... if you take a look at this pic:

http://www.contour.org/php/showpic.php?img=/FAQ/img/IAC.jpg

the plastic connector (the female, not the male) directly to the lower right of where the person is pointing in my 95 lx tour is cracked and loose. u can imagine ive gotten some pretty spontaneous effects while driving... i very carefully tried to glue it back together using a strong glue but the latch still doesn't hold as well as it should, i think. well anyway im looking to replace that part and i got no idea what exactly it's called/part no...

tia everyone

I JUST replaced my IAC yesterday, and my mechanic laughed and laughed and laughed when i said..."well can't you just clean it?" because i read in here somewhere that you could...he told me i would be back within a few weeks and payin more for service...so i just replaced the IAC system...cost me about 110$

The cylinder pointed at is the IAC and the plastic plug is the IAC electrical connector. Pep Boys has a lot of connectors but I don't know for sure if they have that one.

Mass airflow sensor is either going out or the wiring is bad. Check the wires and contacts in the connector first.
