Had my 00 SVT taken to Ford cause the tranny got stuck in either 1st or 2nd. Anyway they disassembled the tranny and found the forks to be the problem. Also they found out that all the motor mounts were broke. eek Anyone else hve these same problems? confused

This a common problem...I've seen afew transmissions with the same issue...

could this happen to an automatic transmission?


No car anymore ;\ (taking a break from driving due to several misfortunate occurances)

If you're bending the forks and breaking the motor mounts, I would recommend being a little more gentle with your car.

The only time I hammer the car is when I'm on the spray. I see other tours with the blower setup and wondering if they have had similar problems. Would the B&M shifter help out at all or just give me shorter throws? I'm a mustang guy so most shifters help the tranny, that's why I asked.

Only time is on Nitrous... :rolleyes:

That's worse on your drivetrain then anything else. It's "Instant On" power as in coming on all at once. Like hitting it with a big hammer!

S/C builds with rpm. So it's a gradually increase in power until you are moving and well into the power band and then it flies.


BTW - What nitrous setup are you using? And why are you dumping fuel & nitrous before the MAF? eek

It's comucar bottle in a bag. It's a dry system. They've had it for about 6-7 years now. It was mostly installed on the SC,GA,FL mustang patrol cars. When the N20 hits the hot wire in the MAF the computer reads it as ALOT of cold air, so it tells the injectors to dump more fuel. Very nice system. Very easy to install and is TOTALLY hidden. The car doesn't run lean. I do regular checkup's with the plugs and the all look fine. I have gone with 1 step colder though. Reason why I asked about the boosted guys was that the system makes over 80 hp. Am I correct? I'm only squeezin a 60 shot. It's only coming on after 3 grand, so everything is moving pretty good. Here's something else to ponder,if the car is completely stock minus the N20, what about the guys with all of the other mods?
