BTW, that 49 Is beautiful, you have any more pics? I really like the look of the older cars (30'3-40's), especially when hot-rodded!

As far as I know Ford only used the BOSS 429 HEMI for Nascar. The BOSS 429's put in production vehicles were not hemi engines. Although I suppose anyone could swap an engine.

no the street version has hemi heads on it, that is what made the engine. To satisfy the homologation rules Ford had to put out street units to run the engine. unless I am confused about what a hemi head is, the duratec has hemi heads also, right? a hemi head has the spark plug in the center top of the camber

the only difference in the cars was the early cars with the T code engine had nascar parts in them. The later S code engines had just normal parts in them. Might have the codes backwards but you get the idea

You are right; Ford put them in street Mustangs also so they could use it in NASCAR. From everything I've found, the BOSS 429 does have hemi heads, but Ford would only go as far to call them "semi-hemi". I believe the term hemi refers to the hemispherical shape of the combustion chamber on the head. I have no clue if the Duratec has hemi heads or not.
