I have nver taken my car to the drag strip, but I plan to
in the spring. All my friends have 99-01 Z28 Camaros with times ranging between 11.7-13.1 ( 11.7 is w/supercharger )
and I want to show them what a SVT can do. Could I get into
high 14's, I have a 2000 CSVT w/ KKM intake, Sho-shop off-road y-pipe, and a custom built 2.5" exhaust. Also my car is lower with H&Rs, but I am not sure want rims to use I
have my stock 16's will bald BFG's or my 17's ( rage 5.0 )
with Pirelli P7000 SS ( full tread ). Thanks for any info you can give me.

Put your stock rims and tires back on and you will have a shot at 14's. You will have to launch and pull at least a 2.2x 60' time, and make a perfect run. Remove the spare and loose change

Good luck.

I herd that some people had removed the passenger seats before they hit the strip. Every little bit helps.

If you want to lose a few more lbs, get some stock 15's from a contour with some low profile tires... That should take a 1/100th or 2 off your time... Less rotating mass = better acceleration...

When i race my neon i have removed:
Passengers seat, rear seat inluding seat back, spare and jack, all carpet, and all loose change.

I drive around with no rear carpet and rear seat and it is loud but i feel more in tune witht he car then

I've even taken the driver's seat out, I just sit on the floor. Also, take out the windows and replace them with nets. Every little bit helps!

LOL.

I agree with Officer, turning your car into a tin can to run an OK time isn't gonna impress anyone who runs 12's on a stock interior! Why not take them to a road course and show them what the SVT is all about.. in its own environment!

take out the ac compressor too, and don't forget that pesky thing, what's it called, oh yeah, the tranny, because it'll just weigh you down. . . I'm with Pascal, your CSVT will run CIRCLES around any camaro, mustang, etc. on a track, it's a well tuned sedan, not a muscle car. . .let them go from A to B in 11.7 seconds, in the real world, we have things called turns. . .

Your right, the contour is made to take corners like no other but there is nothing wrong with
wanting your car to go faster.
