My driving home story...
The first two hours going home sucked....I was hallucinating (weird hallucinations, I'll give details if requested) after Sterling. Once I got into Iowa, I stopped and slept for a bit, which took care of the hallucinating. When I got back on the road I was still seriously tired so I stopped at the next rest area and slept for about a half hour. After that I was still tired, but I could keep my eyes open. I ended up going pretty quick through Iowa. After Des Moines, I was going about 78 when a Geo Tracker flew past me, so I let him pace me. Shortly after that a little blue Escort flew past us both, and we let him pace us. I won't say our cruising speed because I don't want this thread to get locked. And then once we got to Nebraska it was a free-for-all, like I was telling you about. I got back to Lincoln about 8.5 hours after I left, which is much less driving time than my trip there when you take away the sleep/stop times. It was fun, but I don't know if I would drive home again after the bars like I did Sat. night.
And I was not drunk during this...the hallucinations were brought on by serious sleep deprivation over the weekend. I slept four hours Friday night, and drove to Madison, WI during the day Saturday. I was never afraid of falling asleep at the wheel, because I never have and can't understand how someone can. The hallucinations were something new though.
