Try wiping with CLR.

To really clean it use Mothers Metal Polish with an orbital buffer and a clean terry pad.

I find that any wiper blades work better if the glass is coated with Rain-X. It may even help fill very fine scratches. However, the slightest dirt makes me get semi-persistent streaking... I think the blades or the glass might be no good, but as soon as I get a good rain and run the wipers for a solid length of time, the problem clears up. It just seems to take several minutes of wiping to get the dirt off, even if you just washed it the day before. In dry weather, if I do the squirt-and-wipe routine, it works much better after a minute than after ten seconds.
