Zetec S - This is the baby Zetec as fitted to the late Fiesta, Puma and 1.4/1.6 Focus models. It has been produced in 1.25, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 litre capacities. These engines bare no mechanical resemblance to the Zetec E.
Right out of Butron Power's catalog, page 9.

Going smaller would let the engine rev higher, but the lower power output would be a bad thing. Also, it would cost just as much to ship that engine from the UK as it would the Cosworth.

get a 95 Zetec, and rebuild it with better internals. Rebuild the tranny as well, then you can put your clock back down to ZERO!!

The reason i would go with the 95 zetec, is because it is truely the easiest North American zetec to mod and build up. It doesnt have VCT, it has the OBD I, EEC IV, so its more user friendly, computer wise. Also the 95s were built just a tad bit better/stronger, due to the first year release (or so I am told, and so I have experienced, as i have a 95).

But, if you have a 2000, maybe 99 year tour, it may work better for you, if you use a 96/97 yr Zetec, which is made for the OBD II/ EEC V. Also, since it basically uses the same computer as the focus, you can just about use all of their gear, like the 70mm MAF, which only difference is that the tour has a post type sensor, and the focus has a two wire strip down the center. However, a few minor adjustment made with your handy-dandy tool box and power tools, and you have yourself a 70mm MAF. Then you could probably also bolt on the FSVT IM. I am goin to look that one up, cause i also want to put it on my tour and my focus.

But, the possibilities are endless...
