Has anybody installed the alternator pulley? If so, how difficult was it, and what belt was used?

I'm bringing mine to an alternator rewiring shop to rewire and install the new pulley. No way are we getting the pulley off ourselves, it has to be on there really tight.

How difficult was it to remove the alternator? Did you have to go through all the steps the Haines manual describes, or could some of them be skipped to save time? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Miguel

I have a new alternator on the way. So, I haven't removed mine yet! I will probably just follow the directions I have found on here and on the service manual.

Did you do the install of the UD alt pulley yourself? If you did, could you describe what you did to get the alternator out, any hints on simplifying the process would be helpful.
