Trans pattern is missing a bolt hole, near the starter, on the right bank portion of the block. There is a hole that's about 1/2" away from lining up (makes very little difference leaving it out if using one for a swap). This is on an early '98 block... The '99 blocks have both holes needed for the MTX-75 and Taurus trans patterns...
The '00+ blocks have a smaller knock sensor hole, different from previous years... that'd be about it until you get inside the engine itself...
