Agreed, but the Mustang is a better made car. The driveline in a Camaro is cheap and outdated. GM was so cheap that when they went from the LT-1 to the LS-1, they didn't even bother to change the floor plan (the bulge in the passenger side floor was no longer needed as the underbody catalytic converter was no longer placed under the passenger). So The passenger footwell has a POS bulge in it for no reason.
Also GM decided to stop rust proofing the axle, propshaft and underbody too towards the end. So you can buy a nice new Camaro and after a year the axle and proprshaft are as rusty as the frikken Titanic.
Up until the 2003 Cobra came out, the Camaro had the Cobra in it's pocket, as far as drag racing was concerned. But for a track car the Cobra is far better, especially the new one.
