My dads 94 hit 13.5 with basic bolt-ons, CAI, Cat-Back, and chip, well reprogrammed chip... He put a set of 373s in it too but never ran it with them in it... So my question to you is, How is a Mustang GT with all it's 260 HP going to outrun a Z-28 with 305 HP? I know the mustangs are not that much lighter than Camaros... I also know that Camaros have more TQ than Mustangs, so again, how is it possible for a stock GT to run high 13's when a stock Z will run high 13's and kill a GT??? Get your facts straight then come argue...
um,ok motor trend lists a stock '02 gt at 14.1 @ 97mph...sounds like low 14's to me....and we all know that motor trend tester drivers suck....also my friend at work ran a 13.9 in his '02 gt with a drop in k+n and flowmaster mufflers(not full exhaust, just mufflers)....so what's ur point???????a 94 z28 did not come stock with 305 hp either(camaro's didn't come with 305hp until they were ls1 powered)the lt1's had 275,then 285 hp and heavier than a stang.....if you'd like i can dig out some more mags. and find you some more test results that back up my statement, but i have a life...and its obvious you are a stang hater, and you don't know wtf you are talking about....with all those bolt ons your dad had he should have been way into the low 13's....if you want some real world facts on stang times check out svtperformance.com...there are alot of camaro guys on there too....so don't try and hate on the mustang, when its obvious you don't know jack about them...and don't be so upset that they quit making your beloved camaro....while the mustang lives on and just keeps getting better like the '03 cobra(the best bang for the buck muscle car out there)and the new mach1,and then a boss in the near future, and all these bada$$ cars without any competition from the gm camp....

V6 vs V6, winner...Camaro GT vs Z-28, winner...Z-28 SS vs Cobra, winner...SS Ok before the 03 Cobra, but still F-Bodies will always win when it comes to 1) Handling 2)Acceleration 3) Looks 4) Reliability... I know some of you will call BS on that, but consider this... How many Mustangs would hold up to drag racing every weekend for 2 years straight, plus be driving an additional 500 miles every week for 4 years? I know my dads 94 Z did...
again you don't know wtf you are talking about....a cobra will outhandle any fbody hands down...you think those boats can outhandle a cobra????no way in hell...reliability get real(even fbody enthusiasts will admit the build quality of their cars suck)and as far as looks go the camaro does not look as good as a stang(although the firebird is a cool looking car,but not the camaro)
and as far as your racing comment...for years mustangs were the most popular street-strip cars made....go to any track and you will see tons of them.....hell there's 2 or 3 magazines dedicated to mustangs on the shelf, why don't you look at one and see just how many street-strip stangs there are....there are so many 10 second and under street stangs out there it isn't even funny(they have one of the largest aftermarkets out there)i guarantee there are tons more street-strip stangs out there that are driven as daily drivers....once again i will direct you to svtperformance.com(there's alot of fbody owners on there that are very knowelegable about fbodies)...maybe you should read up a little more on both cars before you make ridiculous statements, and its obvious you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about...

fastest street legal car is a camaro with a 602 (i think) and 300+hp shot of nitrous.... from what i hear camaro engine better for strip, mustang rear end better, i've seen a hybrid stang at strip (camaro engine), he must have done that for a reason. v6 vs. v6, camaro is hands down winner, though cobra is hands down winner over SS (not only by speed, but by price as well, i think). camaro v6 handles better than mustang v6, though i'm guessing GT and cobra handle better than camaro. and camaros don't look any worse than mustangs. can't wait to see the new body stlye stang come out.

1. Yes, there is. The Stang is still in production and stronger than ever with 390hp. 2. I totally agree. 3. I think the scoops are too square looking for the sleek lines of the Contour, Plus the hood is more rounded while the Camaro hood is almost flat. 4. I own a Camaro for 10+ years now and I love my car.

This is his topic because he started it. So unless you are going to add anything useful to the topic on hand then maybe you ought not to be so critical about it.
