They always show you how they catch people and stuff. Truth is, most people that actually run will loose them before the cop will even have a chance to catch up with them. Why do you think most sportsbike riders run? They're going so fast the cop can't even make out the license plate number. But of course, they wouldn't show you clips of people actually getting away now would they?

The excuse they gave was lame nonetheless. The BMW M3 breaks down before the Crown Vics and Camaro, riiight! Should have said it ran out of gas, would have made it more believeable.

stupid computer. Can't view it but I imagine it is pretty sweet.

Sorry guys but the M3 did not break down. Watch the video closely and watch the background. Look at your surroundings and tell me again that he broke down. All they did was slow a earlier footage down to make it look as if he broke down. Why would cops show you a video of someone outrunning the cops? Exactly, they wouldn't. Chek out 2:10 seconds into the vid and look at your surroundings then watch the end where they say he breaks down. The kid actually got away.

Good job sam I was waiting to see who would say something about the removed time stamp and also shows the repeat footage when he was breaking hard to do the u-turn across the median.

that show really irks me....
every episode is designed to make the cops look like knghts in shining armor..
they say stuff that contradicts everything you can see in teh video..
the one episode that sticks out in my mind, there was a guy on foot running from the cruiser and the cop turned down the side street the guy was on and hits the guy taking his legs out from underneath him, tehn about 4 cops jump on him and proceed to use unneccesary force to cuff teh guy.
meanwhile the narator dude (who i can't stand) is saying that the criminal runs right at the cruiser making it imossible for the cop to miss him. (even thought the guy was hit from behind)
and then he says that teh guy tries resisting arrest...
he was on the ground motionless after he got hit by the cruiser!!
grrr

The really thing about that video is the actions of the law enforcement agency, they obviously don't appreciate the damage that could be caused to other drivers when that stinger strip rips the front tires on that BMW, at that speed he would certainly loose control, in the UK stinger strips are normally only used where the road is disabled from use by other drivers, or where a life or death situation occurs. Not simply in a chase situation. Infact road traffic police are not allowed to break local speed limits on urban roads even in a find and follow situation

That show is hilarious. If you watch discovery channel or TLC you can see many of these same chases in thier unaltered form. On Wildest Police Chases they always get away, but on the real shows half of them end up making it. I think that white haired fool is just annoying with his little one liners and catch phrases. "Amazingly, noo one was hurt!" yeah right.

What always tickles me sally good is the high-fidelity audio. In my 25 years, I never fully realized that Cooter's jacked-up 4WD pickup truck tearing down the dirt roads made the same skidding sounds as Jacque's BMW makes on fresh asphalt.

And I think it's just amazing that the microphones on the helicopters pick up the sound, too.
