My dad installed remote start on his 2000 Grand cherokee, and it has something like PATS with an encoded key. He just wrapped a spare key with copper wire and taped it under the dash, and it works great. Kinda eliminates the use of the system though, I guess that's what insurance is for, if someone wants something bad enough, they'll get it. Anti-theft system or not, I've recovered alot of stolen cars with and without them.
