Exactly! That's why I used 16" struts...

My struts throw the hood right up and even close it for you; when you pass their centerline!

Looks Great BTW!!!

So where does the clip go? I just finished putting mine on and I didn't see where it would fit. though they might go in the socket but there was already a clip in there and the ends of the struts snapped into the sockets without any problem.

If you look at the end caps, you will see a tiny hole, the straight part slides through that hole, and the curve hooks around under the socket. It works as a locking mechanism, won't come off with those installed. I didn't use the nut, I suppose you could get it in behind the bolt on the hood itself, but what a Pain in the Arse.

We ordered these through a GB from the UK. I just got mine installed correctly guys. If you use the lower hole on the hood mounting points install in perfect. So it looks like the top ones work for the Mondeo and the bottom ones are good for the Contour. I hope me bending my fender mounting point helped you guys do this mod more catiously. I'm hoping some benefit out of misfortune anyway.

Just a bit of confusion, and the need to use different holes than those of the Mondeo.

No trouble Moby. Just a slight difference in cars and a different mounting position.

It's Ok guys, I'm only messin.
It's just a shame you guys never had a chance to sample the delights of the Mk1.
Why did Ford have to piss about with everything, *******s.(Why's that censored, with all the stuff that goes on at FOX??)
Hope you guys can sort this hood install out, cos they look great when they're on.

Thanks to all who did this mod before me ... I used Eric's install instructions and got them done in 20min (walked in here to the computer a couple of times and dropped one of the clips once Doh). They look and work great. Thanks to the GB for coming through too. laugh
