I had a very similar problem. Sometimes I would have the break applied and when I would release it the pads would stick. It made a huge Pop or clunk noise when I went to move, like it popped out of gear. Scared the crap out of me. It actually left the outline of the pad on the rotor when I jumped out and check it one day; that day it was very hot out. It was under warranty and the problem went away when the dealer changed the brake pads.

Mine does something similar, although it only happens when I have left the car overnight with the emegency brake set.
I release the brake, let out the clutch, and I get a fairly loud pop from the rear brakes.
It tends to be more pronounced if it has been raining overnight or otherwise damp outside.

this would not help.... but i felt like i should post it. There's couple of things that i do not touch at my car: brakes and steering. I do change my pads, but that's it. The reason for it is that these two things will keep you safe on the road. This doesn't mean that when i take my car in for service i'm not closely following what they "repair".... I know it's not always a pleasure to have smb around checking and asking all kind of stuff.... but hey ->> it's my life (possible others' as wel) and i don't wanna "take a brake" cause smb fooled with my car... That's me.

I recommend Bendix pads; low dust, low fade, they don't squeal anywhere near as bad as factory or cheapos, and they don't stick! I've used Bendix on several cars, and the difference is wonderful.

I have had bad results with Bendix pads & I used to like them... Even their new Titanium line. Bad fade!!!, average dust, average wear, but harsh on rotors big time...
I would recommend Ferrodo Selectra for a better then stock replacement. Mintex for a great performance application.

THANKS FOR INPUT, I TRY REPLACING PADS, BUT THE NOISE I'M HEARING IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE CAR, DOWN BY THE BRAKE PETAL. MAYBE IT'S A CABLE, I DON'T KNOW!?

xplodecontour MTX or ATX? Paul If it's ATX, you might be hearing the Park release solenoid, it can be iterating at times.
