I had a very similar problem. Sometimes I would have the break applied and when I would release it the pads would stick. It made a huge Pop or clunk noise when I went to move, like it popped out of gear. Scared the crap out of me. It actually left the outline of the pad on the rotor when I jumped out and check it one day; that day it was very hot out. It was under warranty and the problem went away when the dealer changed the brake pads.
