Any new info out there? Other than reporting those who have lost a motor. Just wondering how far the oil level is from the crankshaft at 1/2 or 3/4 over full??? Aireation. thanks Paul

Anyone have any oil temps when the motors failed ???

I don't know a whole lot about working on cars but would an oil preluber/accumulator help. Advice would be appreciated.

You may be on to something there Terry, in fact a lot of info. was missing in most post's complaining of engine failure. Ive seen a couple of uprisings on this board about the engines, one even got Troy of SVT involved. He was going to show up at spring zing and try to address the complaints. However just like this thread it just died and I never heard what come of it. Terry as you well know many things contribute to the death of an engine.

What's the probability of us getting some SVT engineers to Spring Zing this year?
I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it. Current - 2002 Chevy Silverado Former - 98 SVT E0 T-Red 4/4/97 #173 of 6535(so long girl, you'll be missed)

Hey, maybe someone (RedSVT)? with a disassembled motor would be willing to set the crank in the cradle and set that on the oil pan and let us know how much oil it takes to just miss the crank. ...Ed

Engine oil temps in excess of 230 deg F are considered high, most 'oil-stats' start to divert oil to oil>air coolers at around 176 deg F...never hammer the motor until the engine oil temp hits 130 Deg F.....
