I wasn't going with a "S",just a regular Cooper with some of the goodies of the "S".The "S" is having some teething problems that the regular Cooper is not.Plus,I can use the $3,000 difference in price for other things..
Allen, when you mail out the registration papers,I'll throw some money back to you for all your hard work!
John, don't put up with that abuse.Just stick your tounge out back to her!

Just an FYI in response : The pre-registration IS NOT open yet , and like every other year , it won't open until the last minute . I've been through that over & over & over again . The "club form" is the best way to assure you'll be counted (the group name's already on there) and that you'll get the $30 price tag . That's how we've always done it over at the Central PA Triumph Group , at least for the last 12 years I've been a member . Terri's been to carlisle enough times to realise the waiting that's involved waiting for the online registration to open ! IIRC , it was pretty darn late last year till they opened up online registration ...

Steven - I'm not that worried about the $$$ involved with sending out the forms , I just want everyone to show up this year !!! The "on my own dime" statement was more about my spare time (or lack thereof) than anything else . It just came across differently than I figured it would , I guess . Good to see you're still hanging around here ! Wait another year , THEN get the Cooper 'S' . It'll be all figured out by then (like the "breaking crank" issue ) . Get one in SILVER ... they look AWESOME . A customer just got his 'S' & brought it to the shop (with 200 miles on the clock) , silver , 'S' stripes , driving lights , large sunroof , rear spoiler , larger wheels ... the works ! The BEST looking new MINI I've ever seen so far .
