it is a pre/post thing, my mystique and my dad's contour have the hood prop on the drivers side and my mothers contour has it on the "wrong side"
there is no hood liner that is post 98 only, unless someone took it out
I think the battery cable terminals also changed pre to post 98
one last thing although it is kinda hard to see, and I think it was a change, pre 98 have little air foils on the wiper blades, the post 98 cars don't
