This really should be in the Problems forum but I did not notice the cross post. In any case, according to my Haynes manual, for 4 cylinder engines the gauge sender is located on the thermostat housing. Looks like you have to remove resonator and some hoses. Don't do this when the engine is hot and be prepared for some coolant to come out.
Investment in a Haynes manual is always a good thing.
