I have a 95 mystique, manual, and for some odd reason the shifter rattles around 60mph to 70mph. It is an annoying buzzing sound made from the reverse gear handle rattling against the shifter, and has something to the simple harmonic motion of the shifter and handle. Has anyone else had this problem? any ideas on fixing it?

I just did a run from South Jersey to Mid NH and I had to keep the radio up way loud to survive. I'm going back again and can't stand the thought of dealing with that buzzing again.... HELP ME PLEASE!

Okay, NO ONE has any ideas???? Come on, there's enough mechanical knowledge here to rebuild the freaking space station!

This happened to me on my 96.
Really a pain on the highway. Hit a cetain speed/RPM and the shifter buzzes.

My dealer came out with me on a test drive and I was able to demonstrate the buzz (I was lucky that day).

Under waranty they replaced the entire stick assembly. Even got a new shifter knob that was leather wrapped that came on the new stick.

Never had problems since. I am sorry that I can't go into further details on what was wrong, it was 5 years ago.
You know how they do it, just replace everything instead of pin pointing the problem.
