My Duratec has passed 115,000 miles and is getting ready for a new clutch. Recently, I've starting getting a grind when upshifting from 1st to 2nd at or near redline. I know the synchros are a problem in the MTX transaxles. Anyone replaced synchros yet? Anything available better than stock? Any help/advice much appreciated.

Could you tell me what exactly gets upgraded with your rebuild? When you and I traded e mails earlier this year you only mentioned planetary and side gears.

The diff gears are often discribed as the side gears (sun) and the diff gears(planent),as when the diff is operating the planets revolve around the sun,same terms in an atx due to the epicyclic gear train(s0.

My Syncros are bad to..how do I go about getting this upgraged tranny? Terry, are you the one who does it..how much? What will you need? Please let me know..
