My last car was a '91 Ford Mustang 5.0L. I actually didn't even have to cut ANY wires on that car, as it had it's own separate wire in the steering column, with it's own separate connector on it.
And no, I haven't done this to my tour, since I tryed the duct tape fix, and I liked it that way alot.
And your right about there being several ways to go about doing this. Your method works too. But I was just offering another way to kill chime for those who didn't want to climb under the dash, or lose the headlight-on warning. And EVERY car with a chime has an ignition tumbler key-in switch, so this was the easiest way to explain to anybody how to deactivate this function on ANY car. I'm an ASE cert. technician, and deal with cars all day, everyday, so I was just giving this other option, so people could see alternate methods of acheiving the same thing. Nothing against your way either, I guess. Just a matter of personal preferance
