Are you sure the wiper blades are installed correctly and that the blade holder isn't scratching the windshield? The blades are rubber so they wont be able to scratch glass. You can replace the entire blade & holder for under $15/side. You might also check that the arms themeselves are not loose. I believe it's a 13 or 15mm nut under the little flip-up cover.
