I'm at the crossroads with my Maxima. I'm debating on whether to keep it, buy a new set of rims (sold my 16" Kosei K1s), get an ECU with possibly the nitrous setup, and do a little extra exhaust work (primarily a 2k+ Maxima muffler). My other option, which depends on quite a few things, is to sell the Maxima and pickup a 2002 VW GTI. With that, I'd probably go straight to APR and get the $3800 full turbo upgrade kit and go from 165fwhp to about 280-300fwhp (depending on gas used). It all depends on a lot of things. There aren't many modified turbo VWs in town yet so it would be pretty fun.
It would be very hard to give up the Maxima though. I bought it with 30K miles and now has 90K miles. It has over 100 1/4 mile passes with launches ranging from 2000-5000rpms. The STOCK and orginal clutch has yet to slip plus the car has NEVER been to the shop. It's a bulletproof car.
As for that black SVT, I really wish I knew what that guy is running NA and what other mods he had. All we talked about was his nitrous setup. He was a smart guy when it came to launching the SVT though. It seemed like he babied it off the line to keep from breaking the "glass" tranny. Ahhh hell, here's the slip:
HIM ME
RT .913 .593
60' 2.391 2.246
330 6.345 6.277
1/8 9.467 9.568
MPH 79.97 74.78
1000 12.103 12.403
1/4 14.311 14.770
MPH 102.09 95.88
Both cars are screamers though. The SVT gained 22mph in the last 1/8 and mine gained 21mph. It looks like much of the nitrous advantage is between the 330' and 1000'.
