i actually drove the car today (sh*tty weather here in New England) and it drives fine. response is nice and sharp - but its this idle.

Might want to pull the accordian/air tube and confirm that the butterfly is closing all the way, and there is no hang up in the linkage. Double check the TB gasket and the hose that hooks up to the pipe on the underside of the UIM. You can check the range of TPS sensor with a voltmeter, but you'll need to sneak some little wires into the connector so you can measure the output with everything plugged in. (IIRC the low (closed) end output is around 1.3V) You can also try loosening the TPS so that it can relax against its preload tension as much as possible.
