i'd like a slightly higher idle, though i have a zetec. anytime heat or defroster is on the car nearly stalls.

i actually drove the car today (sh*tty weather here in New England) and it drives fine. response is nice and sharp - but its this idle.

do you have any suggestions on figuring out if the settings are incorrect on the TP Sensor?

Might want to pull the accordian/air tube and confirm that the butterfly is closing all the way, and there is no hang up in the linkage. Double check the TB gasket and the hose that hooks up to the pipe on the underside of the UIM. You can check the range of TPS sensor with a voltmeter, but you'll need to sneak some little wires into the connector so you can measure the output with everything plugged in. (IIRC the low (closed) end output is around 1.3V) You can also try loosening the TPS so that it can relax against its preload tension as much as possible.

interesting. Thank you for the reply!
I have the BAT intake pipe so I'm pretty sure all is tight, (after triple checking).

I read the specific instructions in the Haynes Manual, I'll give it a try.

Thanks man.

Incidentally, I have a BN optimized SVT TB on my car as well, and I don't have this problem you are describing, so I doubt that it is the cause of it...
