looking at that dyno it looks like the lag is SSOOOOO bad its like driving a stock focus until you hit like 4k and then it just spinns the wheels. I could be wrong though

it goes up much quicker than stock focus, lag yes, but still very fast off the line, i'm sure. (i've seen similar done to a honda, it is fast off the line, but you can tell when the turbo really kicks in, for one thing the exhaust stops popping ))

Those are awesome numbers. No denying it. Quite impressive.
However look at the graph. An Oversized turbo making just big peak numbers. Nothing under the steep curve & that lag is huge.
Impressive peaks like I said, but no powerband and you have to wait for it to peak. I can see why his times are slower than the power indicates.
Call me a hater if you like, but there is more to driving and tuning then just peak power only!

Holy Flurgin Shnit. That is just insane. As winter just hit this area today, I'm just trying to envision how much trouble that car would give past 3000rpm if one were stupid enough to daily drive it. Odviously that wouldn't happen though.

You couldnt be farther from the truth. Toms turbo is a very small turbo, not even as big as a t3/t4. There also is no waiting on anything, revs build so insanely fast (and boost too!), that 3K to 6.5k rpm in 3rd gear on the dyno takes all of about 3-4 seconds. His seemingly slow times have nothing to do with his power band. He cant hook. Stock suspension and you should see his tire setup...17's with drag radials? Ha! And yes, there is alot to tuning, and IMO, Tom is one of the best in the country right now. No one else I know is putting in forged rods/pistons, bolting a head on with stock cams and making 436 hp on a 2.0 Zetec.

Thought you guys might find this entertaining. A buddy of mine over at FocalJet made this video (22 mb) of Turbo Tom earlier this year. Enjoy! Turbo Tom courtesy of covert1 of FocalJet.
