i was getting a 0171 and 0174 bank 1&2 running too lean, i've swapped all four o2 sensors and now getting an obd-II code of p1519 which points to the intake manifold runner control valve closed. I've talked to a ford dealer and they talked about a bushing on the solonoid might of failed. do u have any input on any of this? how about where that solonoid is located? thanks

On 96 and newer tours the IMRC is electrically operated. The solenoid is under the plastic 'beauty cover' over the front cylinder bank and water pump pulleys. If you remove the 'Duratec' cover, you should see the IMRC and linkage. If it's stuck closed, you shouldn't be running lean, but may not have much power over about 4K rpm. You should be able to test the IMRC in the driveway by operating the throttle linkage by hand and watching the IMRC linkage. It should start opening up at around 3800 RPM. If it works but sticks ocasionally, try turning the limit bolt up about a 1/2 turn or so. The butterflies may be getting hung up in gunk in the lower intake manifold. (Time for a LIM cleaning...) If the IMRC doesn't move at all, try helping it out by hand. If still no go, the IMRC motor may need to be repaired/replaced.

Actually the code 1519 is for IMRC 'stuck open'. (See the FAQs) Either way, the IMRC isn't working. Let us know what you find on your tests.
